I have been spending quite a lot of time over the last few weeks mostly clearing and digging over the two veg patches. Here are the pics from November, then today.
In 2025, I left veg patch 1 uncultivated, and just piled up rubbish on it, intending to burn it. (I was busy cycling 12 miles/day to reach the 3431 miles from my home in Pudsey to Gaza. It was a virtual trip - I wasn't actually cycling to Gaza, just riding around locally! It was a fund-raiser for Medical Aid for Palestinians - https://www.justgiving.com/page/tim-devereux-map-2025).
I made three attempts at a bonfire, all futile in the face of the unremitting wetness. So I moved the rubbish to an out of the way spot at the bottom of the garden, and started rotivating and digging.

Coming soon - veg patch 2, and pruning apples trees ;-)
