Post Restante

You are here: Home > Cycling > Santiago home > Day 1Post Restante

I had no intention of lugging a bike bag ( 6 lb) around with me, and the old hubs used for fork spacers were superfluous weight, too. So I sent them to Post Restante, Santiago. The details: in Post Offices (Correos), they have three sizes of box (they neatly fold from flat to box, and even include essential sticky tape) The one I used cost about 6 Euros. You’ll need your passport number to put on the package too. Send it to…..

And when you get to Santiago, don’t collect it from the ordinary Post Office right by the Cathedral, in Traversa de Fonseca (entrance by the three lion post boxes) but from the parcels office (come out of Post Office, turn right, then round the corner, into the Rua de Franco, the entrance with the big iron gates, and you go down a few steps and there is the parcels counter. You will need your passport and you won’t need to be in too much of a hurry… but your parcel will be there!!
