Pedalling for Palestine

04/06/2024 Day 2: Lincoln to Holbeach

79.9 km, 60 m climbing, 4 hours 58 minutes, 16.1 kph

[The height profile is at the bottom of the map, and you'll notice today is flat as a pancake :-)].

This was between between Short Ferry and Bardney, on a rather nice cycleway that started on the outskirts of Lincoln

As above, with selfie:-)

Lunch stop, probably at Royal Oak Heckington; much appreciated - there had been a dearth of eateries in the previous miles!

I am looking remarkably cheery considering I had just pedalled a couple of miles the wrong way!

Anne and Bob's, Holbeach! Hooray!

Transcript of my Instagram reel for this day

Tim here again, end of day two, my pedaling for Palestine from Lincoln to Holbeach today. It's about 50 miles. I thought it was going to be quite easy because, you know, Lincolnshire flat, but no, it was quite hard because it was raining a bit, always a bit yucky. And also it was windy, but unlike yesterday, windy in the wrong direction.

Now, unfortunately, I don't know how to go from selfie view to the other view, so let's just hope this works. I want to show you how I power the phone. My phone won't last a whole day, giving me navigation and whatnot, so it has to have a data bank, not a data bank - it has to have a backup battery and a very long wire. And then, here, the USB cable has a nasty habit of falling out. (You can tell we're in Lincolnshire because of the plane, and I'd show you a picture but the cloud cover is too low.) So, to make sure the USB cable stays in, I have a little rubber band. That usually works. While I'm here, I might as well show you the extra loud horn, which I haven't had to use at all in Lincolnshire. There were three close passes yesterday when I was in Yorkshire. But in Lincolnshire, they seem, the drivers, to know that you just need them to be there, to be a long way away from you, five feet, and I don't have a problem with it here, which is great.

Thank you, Lincolnshire. Okay, tomorrow I head to Bedford, 60 miles, so not too bad, 50 today, all right, see you tomorrow. Bye for now.
